Update: A Hasbro spokesperson has confirmed the closure of Atomic Arcade in an email sent to Game Developer, but noted the studio's unnamed Snake Eyes project has not been cancelled.

Original story: Atomic Arcade, the video game studio established by Hasbro and subsidiary Wizards of the Coast, has seemingly been shuttered.

LinkedIn posts from a number of employees who appear to have been laid off as a result of the decision indicate the studio has closed its doors.

"I'm currently exploring new opportunities following the recent closure of Atomic Arcade," reads one post.

"Unfortunately Hasbro has made the call to close Atomic Arcade. I was only with the studio for about a year, but from the start I felt the studio had tons of talent and potential. I'll miss working with the team we had, and wish everyone the best" adds another.

"I've been affected by Hasbro's and Wizards of the Coast's decision to close Atomic Arcade. While this obviously stinks, there are a lot of really great people now available, including myself," said another impacted worker.

Many of those LinkedIn posts have been shared with words of support by former Atomic Arcade studio head and studio general manager, Derek Racca, who transitioned to a new role as director of production at Wizards of the Coast in February 2026.

Atomic Arcade was established in 2021 and had been developing what it described as a "high-quality video game" focused on G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes.

It's unclear how many people have been laid off as a result of the closure. The Atomic Arcade website doesn't contain headcount details, while the company's LinkedIn page offers a wide estimate of between 51-200 employees.

Game Developer has reached out to Hasbro for comment.
