Konami's eFootball tops 1 billion downloads

Newsbrief: eFootball, Konami's free-to-play sports game, has accrued over 1 billion downloads.
Per a press release shared earlier today, eFootball, which is the successor to Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series, hit what the company calls a "major milestone." The developer is celebrating the record with a limited-time campaign in-game as well as a manga serialization.
At the time of publication, eFootball has a Mixed review rating on Steam with over 27,000 reviews in English. In an analysis by GameDiscoverCo published last week, eFootball was deemed as the "most divisive game on Steam," with almost exactly 50 percent positive and negative reviews.
Konami soft-launched eFootball in late 2021, with the official launch taking place later in 2022.
