'The company as a whole no longer exists:' GreedFall developer Spiders confirms closure

GreedFall and The Technomancer developer Spiders has closed down.
The Parisian studio and parent company Nacon filed for insolvency earlier this year after the latter missed a loan repayment.
The process allows struggling companies operating under French law to freeze their liabilities for an observation period lasting up to 18 months while that debt is potentially restructured.
The aim is to provide time for ailing businesses to implement a functional recovery plan, but Spiders has now received confirmation that it is being liquidated.
"We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated," reads an update from the studio, posted on Facebook.
"What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then—well, that's it. We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
"If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
According to the Spiders website, the studio employed over 90 people alongside a number of freelancers and authors.
The company also developed its own in-house game engine dubbed the 'Silk Engine' to facilitate the creation of PC and consoles titles such as Steelrising and GreedFall.
Game Developer has reached out to Nacon for more information about the closure.
