Valve has confirmed the Steam Controller will retail for $99 in the United States.

The versatile gamepad will be available for purchase on May 4. It's currently unclear when the device will actually ship.

Earlier this year, Valve said it had been forced to review the shipping schedules and pricing options of upcoming hardware—including the Steam Controller—due to component shortages.

Key features of the controller include magnetic thumbtacks, grip-enabled gyro technology dubbed 'Grip Sense,' and high definition rumble.

Built-in trackbacks aim to offer mouse-and-keyboard style functionality, while a Bluetooth 'Puck' doubles as both a wireless transmitter and charging station.
