Windrose surpasses 1M sales within a week

Newsbrief: Windrose, the pirate adventure survival game developed by Kraken Express, has sold one million copies in its first six days since launch.
Announced by the studio via Steam, Kraken achieved the milestone within a week of the game's release on April 14. Moreover, on April 19, Windrose accrued over 200,000 concurrent players.
"Your support for the game is absolutely astonishing, and your patience while we are working on fixes is truly heart-warming," reads the announcement. "While we keep working on the game, we read your reviews and comments, watch your videos and streams, and sometimes, honestly, shed a pirate-y tear of happiness, because now when the game is out you share our dream of swashbuckling adventure."
Windrose sold 500,000 copies in its first 48 hours. Since then, the team has been busy releasing hotfixes and addressing issues around Steam Cloud Saves and IPS-related problems, as well as implementing "experimental automatic save backups" to prevent data loss.
