PlayStation and Xbox veteran launches talent agency to support small studios

Fiona Cherbak, a veteran talent leader who worked at both PlayStation Worldwide Studios and Xbox Game Studios, has launched a new boutique talent agency called Rocket Game Talent to bring triple-A expertize to indie studios.
The nascent company is described as a "fractional talent firm" capable of delivering tailored talent strategies that scale with studio growth.
With that goal in mind, Rocket Game Talent will provide a range of services such as full-cycle recruiting, employer branding, engagement programs (including diversity recruiting initiatives and university partnerships), and talent operations infrastructure (such as hiring process design and interview training).
Cherbak, who served as talent acquisition lead at PlayStation and lead talent program manager at Xbox, explained her intention is to bridge the gap between triple-A hiring practices and the realities of operating an independent studio by "delivering Fortune 500 recruiting expertise without the cost of a full-time hire."
"Most game talent specialists specialize in either AAA or indie. I've carefully mastered both," said Cherbak. "I understand why your 50-person studio can't hire like Xbox does—and I know how to position you to win top talent anyway. I understand both $200M blockbusters and bootstrapped startups—and that range is your advantage."
Cherback worked with major studios such as Forza developer Turn 10 Studios and God of War developer Santa Monica Studio during her stints at Xbox and PlayStation.
