Unity sunsetting Ads Network and divesting publishing label Supersonic
Unity is sunsetting its IronSource Ads Network and selling off its mobile publishing label Supersonic.
The engine maker confirmed the news in an SEC filing, where it explained that Ads Network will be discontinued on April 30, 2026.
Unity merged with IronSource in 2022. The Ads Network division promised to help developers acquire users and drive revenue. In 2024, Ironsource CEO Tomer Bar-Zeev and other company co-founders departed Unity amid mass layoffs at the company.
Unity said it expects "minimal contribution" from the business after the first quarter of 2026.
The company has also hired a financial advisor to assist with the divestiture of Supersonic, an internal mobile publisher that has generated an estimated 6.6 billion downloads since it launched in February 2020.
According to figures shared on the Unity website, Supersonic has published over 130 titles that served over 190 million monthly active users as of October 2024.
"Supersonic is a part of Unity, so who better to guide you through the process of creating your game in the Unity engine, monetizing with Unity networks, or optimizing performance with Unity services," reads a business overview webpage.
"Fine-tune your games core mechanics to supercharge retention, engagement, and revenue with expert guidance from Supersonic specialists in game design, economies, and market research."
Unity, which just reported preliminary revenue and adjusted EBITA for the first quarter of 2026 above guidance, said its latest business manoeuvres will deliver faster revenue growth.
